Policies

Consultations

A free consultation is conducted for all NEW clients prior to the start of service. This consult allows me to set up your customized service. I ask that you have the required forms filled out to the best of your ability prior to my arrival so we can review them together. You can download the forms by clicking HERE.  Please allow at least 1-1/2 hours for the initial consultation, which enables me to:

  • Meet you and your pets
  • Review the Legal Considerations Form, Veterinary Release Form and Pet Disclosure Form
  • Get detailed information about caring for your pets and your home
  • Review policies and services
  • Arrange your pet sitting schedule and services needed
  • Pick up (2) house keys

This initial consultation also enables you to meet me and ask any questions you may have about the services provided.  At the end of the consult, you will provide me with a key to your home and make payment arrangements. There is an additional fee of $10.00 (plus mileage) if I have to return for the forms or a key.

If you decide not to use our services at the end of the consultation a $30.00 consultation fee will apply. 

House Key

Keep’em Kozy Petsitting will collect 2 keys to the client’s home during the initial consultation. It is suggested that the client allow me to retain the keys safely in my possession for future pet sitting needs. All keys are kept in a secured lock box.  However, the key may also be returned to the client personally at which time a $10 service charge is due.  If the key is returned to the client, there will be a $10 service charge to pick up the key for each service scheduled thereafter.

Payment of Services

Payment is due in advance, to be paid no later than the date of the first visit.  Payment types accepted are cash,  check, credit card or Paypal.  Please make checks payable to Keep’em Kozy Petsitting LLC.  Payment made by credit card or Paypal will incur a fee based on 3% of the total.

Other Persons/Companies at the Home

For insurance reasons and the safety of your pets  and home, no other person should be permitted in your home during the service period.  Additionally, no other person is permitted to care for your pets during the service period.  Failure to comply with this rule will result in a breach of contract.  If you are having any work done on the property outside the home you must notify Keep’em Kozy Petsitting either by phone or email before the service period begins.

Booking Fee

Service scheduled less than 48 hours before initial visit is considered a “last minute” request.  The client will be charged an additional $10.00 for this request.

Cancellation Policy

For regularly scheduled clients (daily, weekly, monthly):

Same day cancellations will result in the full visit amount being charged.

24-48 hour notice of cancellation will result in a $10.00 fee being charged.

For all other clients:

Regular Cancellation Charge Schedule (% applies to entire service period total):

  • 0 – 7 days prior to any service.  Payment in full is charged (no refunds)
  • 8 -14 days prior to service:  50% of service total is due (equals an 50% refund
  • More than 14 days prior to service or more:  No charge, refund in full.

Holiday Cancellation Charge Schedule (% applies to entire service period total): Holiday’s include Memorial Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day

  • 0 – 14 days prior to any service.  Payment in full is charged (no refunds)
  • More than 14 days prior to service:  50% of service total is due (equals an 50% refund)

Clients returning home early will not receive a refund for the reserved amount of time scheduled including travel time.  Clients will not have to pay for scheduled Special Services not preformed.

Locksmith

In the event that Keep’em Kozy Petsitting must obtain a locksmith to gain entry into a client’s home due to a malfunction of the lock or a failure of the client to leave a key, the client will be charged for all costs incurred in order to gain entry.

Arriving Home

Clients are encouraged to contact via phone or text message as soon as they arrive home letting us know you are resuming responsibility for your pet(s). Doing so will avoid any additional charges for unnecessary visits to your home or any accidents that occur because a visit was not made due to lack of contact on the client’s part.
